Default Question on the Properties of Bows

I have read that various bows have various hidden properties - e.g. an innate Armor Penetration on a certain bow.

Is there a detailed comparison on this site? I've been unable to find one.

Thanks!

Missile Weapon Properties .
I have heard some guides having ivory & horn bow as having 10% armor penetration but I cant confirm that since I dont use a ranger.

I asked the same question, however i was told it wasn't ture =/ . The missile weapong properties only shows distance, refire, and air time. I dont think anyone knows too much about innate properties

I've heard that horn bows have a passive and constant +10% armor penetration from a guildie, but I have yet to test this. It would make sense for ANet to add innate properties to such bows, because they have the overall worst stats out of any bows. Personally, I would NEVER buy a horn bow for its stats, but I just bought a max damage one to check its damage against some target vs. my current shortbow.

You have to wonder why ANet would add multiple bows with the exact same range, flight time, and accuracy. Dead bows are the exact same as Composite and Eternal bows, short bows and half moons are the same, Ivory and Horn bows are the same, etc. I know that they may just vary in appearance, but Ivory and Horn bows gotta have SOMETHING that makes them decent, because their stats are horrid. I'll test my max hornbow and keep you posted here, or in a new topic perhaps.

Well, I Ethernal, Shadow, and Storm bows hold the same stats other bows, they are just in the game for purely cosmetic reasons (consider these bows just eye candy bonus). As far as the different between something like a half-moon and shortbow, it might be purely cosmetic as well, or there could be very small differences.

Personally, I don't fully believe these charts. So far I've seen several different versions, some from the guide, the one on this site, and other websites as well. All are slightly different. I think they are mostly accurate, but its hard to tell since I don't know how they obtained their numbers. I mean, if they were pulled from some guy sitting in front of the game with a stopwatch and a pen/paper taking down stats, how accurate can that be? Plus, there are so many factors such as elevation, armor, and critical hits all to be factored in.

It seems there's a new thread on this subject here:

Kinda informative, kinda restatements of what's already "known".

I'm left unsure.

Here's the quote on this subject:

Has anyone tested this?
